YourPods is an open-source, gPodder-compatible podcast player built natively in Swift and SwiftUI. It supports iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, CarPlay, Siri, and Dynamic Island. Users can sync subscriptions and listening progress using YourPods Sync (free cloud sync), their own server (gPodder/Nextcloud), or use Vault Mode for full offline-only functionality.

## YourPods Sync

YourPods Sync is the free cloud sync service for YourPods. Keep your podcast library and listening progress backed up and in sync across all your Apple devices. Manage your account, export your data, or delete your account at any time from the account portal.

### Account Management

The account portal at account.yourpods.app allows users to:

- View account profile (email, tier, member since date)
- Change password
- Export all data (subscriptions, playback history, listening stats)
- Delete account permanently (with 3-year minimal retention per legal requirements)
- Contact support via live chat

Accounts are created in the YourPods iOS app. The portal is sign-in only.

## Account & Sync Modes

YourPods supports four account modes. No account is required to use the app — Vault Mode is the default.

- **Vault Mode** -- free, fully on-device listening with zero server dependency; your data never leaves your phone
- **Self-Hosted (gPodder)** -- free, connect your own gPodder-compatible server (Nextcloud) for cross-device sync you control
- **Third-Party gPodder** -- free, sync via community-run gPodder services like gpodder.net; their privacy policy applies
- **YourPods Sync** -- free YourPods account for seamless cross-device sync of subscriptions, positions, and listening stats; minimal data collection, no analytics

All modes include Podcast Groups, P3 privacy protection, and the full playback engine. Users can switch between modes at any time without losing their local library, downloads, or queue.
